We HAVE to have Bayfront Connectivity, right? Otherwise "they" will get you, right? Right! Does it have to cost $50 million, though? I think that we could have all the "Bayfront Connectivity" we wanted with a few phone calls rather than by spending a claimed $50 million for radical changes to the roads.

I propose the use of street legal eight passenger electric golf carts to provide all the "Bayfront Connectivity" that anyone would ever want. The businesses, or maybe a number of of businesses, that want people from the Bayfront to come to them should just buy or lease one or more of those big golf carts, hire a driver or several drivers and have the driver(s) park where they think the potential customers are supposed to be.

Each driver should be smartly uniformed, the carts should be gaily painted "Free ride to (whatever) and back, no purchase necessary". You would find out in two weeks whether or not the Bayfront is really a market for the businesses that want it, with no $50 million price tag.

Or is "Bayfront Connectivity" really about getting something highly controversial that the Florida DOT hasn't even ruled on yet built on the taxpayer's dime? Don't you ever wonder?
